So I don't know about everyone else's neck O' the woods. But around here the Marlin XL7 / XS7 is pretty cheap. And since it is just a Savage blind mag, it should be. But due to the news of Marlin having problems, the retailers are beginning to dump them cheaper.
Be on the look out for a nice cheap gun!!

Well here is central Ontario Canada they aes rear as Hens teeth.
The levers too seem far between , but then I hear the 338 Me has feeding problems .Only going to raise the price as I see it as stock drys up.
Hope to see the levers back soon at least and not go like the winnie's.
Yes you can buy a new model 94 made in Japan , but they are far from being a working Mans gun .
Maybe Savage will get off the bench with the new Edge.Any hope of a 99 ? that would make the news , even at a high price.

Marlin Firearms Co. Closing Next Year

NORTH HAVEN, CT (AP) -- Workers at the Marlin Firearms Co. in Connecticut say they've been told the 140-year-old company will close next year and all 265 employees will lose their jobs.

Workers at the North Haven company say they learned about the closure plans Thursday. They told local news media layoffs will begin in May and the company will close by June 2011.

Officials at Marlin and the company's owner, Madison, N.C.-based Remington Arms Co. Inc., didn't immediately return phone messages Friday morning. Remington Arms bought Marlin for nearly $42 million in 2007.

Marlin's Web site says John Marlin opened the company in 1870 in New Haven after having worked at the Colt plant in Hartford during the Civil War. The company says its lever action 22 repeater was a favorite gun of Annie Oakley

Ok I stand corrected Remington already owns them now.

Living in the Northeast, I can tell you exactly what happened to Marlin in Conn. They got tied of paying crazy tax bills, workmans comp fees, electric bills, heating bills, labor and benefit costs, and getting harrassed by politicians. They're moving their operation to a state that will cost them less to do business, and not make them out to be the "evil" big business operation. Marlin's move can be nothing but good news for customers who wish to buy an accurate inexpensive firearm.

My only question is when does Remington close their Illion plant and move south too.

There is nothing wrong wih the "push" feed. It is not that "controlled" round feeding is over rated, it is that "push" feed is under rated.
