I hope this doesn't ignite the age old "war" between the brands again but I have to ask since it's time to add another rifle to my battery...
What are the advantages (from a design standpoint) of the Marlin (1894/336) vs. the Winchester M94 rifle (particularly in pistol calibers). I've always favored Marlins because of the smoothness of the action and the ease of disassembly to enable cleaning from the breech but with Bore Snakes that doesn't seem to matter as much any more. The Winchester has more eye appeal (to me) given its slim forearm.
Thoughts?
