I'm in the market for a 35 Remington and was looking at all sorts of Marlin rifles both new and used. The used ones from the 40's and 50's are the ones that catch my eye. Especially the 336A's and 336CS's. However, the new 336's, not so much. I'd love to get one in an 1895ss like my 45-70 but that model isn't made in anything but 45-70. The closest thing to it is the new XLR's and they DO come in 35 Remmington but I can't stand the looks with that laminated stock and stainless. Just seems wrong to me.

So, does or has Marlin ever made that rifle in 35 Remington???

Dave,
check out the recent thread in this forum titled ".35 Remington Brings Home Meat". The OP and shooter has a couple of pictures of his .35 SS with wood. I like them that way, too! I'm not so dead set against laminate, I just think it suffers when paired against stainless or a nice blued action. Give me some stainless and figured walnut!
