Hi Marshall,

This bullet has renewed my interest in hunting mule deer with this rifle. In prior testing I found the BRP 305GC handily outshot the Speer 300 jsp and Hornady 300 XTP. The only problem (to me) was trimming the brass to 1.235" to handle the OAL.

The WFN design feeds great with the full length brass and with 23 gr. of H-110 and CCI 350s I could cover a 10 shot group at 100 yards with a tennis ball. 6 of the holes were touching, I'll assume shooter error for the 4 flyers. With further load tweaking this bullet should be crashing into a mulies chest this fall.

Sound like you're slinging lead pretty well out of that little levergun!  Thanks for the great report!  That load you mention has proven itself to be a consistent accuracy load with that bullet in a such a wide variety .45 Colt chambered guns that it's amazing!

What kind of velocities can be expected with this bullet in a Winchester '92?

With the load listed above, 1700-1750 should be pretty much the norm.  I've heard of folks getting more, but can't vouch for the loads or pressures used to get those velocities.  However, several folks are shooting this exact load in their Marlin leverguns in .45LC and getting quite amazing accuracy out of them, along with these listed velocities!

It's got a lot of venom for such a little gun!
