I just got news today that the Gun Shop sold my 1893 .30-30. So now I'm offically in the market for a small game rifle. If you have any suggestions I'm all ears. But first, here's what I'm looking for. It has to be a lever action Marlin, full magazine, cresent buttplate, at least a 24" barrel & a relaodable caliber(not .22 mag, rimfire or lr). I have been thinking .25-20, .32-20 or .32-40. But, I don't know about the availability of brass for the last one.  Thanks for any opinions, JTT IN NC

Look at the Gunsamerica site as well as the auctions.  There are always some Marlins.  The auctions are a mixed bag and I have been really burned a couple of time - best thing is always to browse the guns shops in your area.  Another problem with auctions is the well documented "winners curse" syndrome.  You often get carried away and pay more than you should.  Auctions are rarely a good deal but they are often where you find what you want.
