I currently have a custom mauser 98 chambered in 6.5 on the Weatherby .257 case and would like to find a Tactical style composite stock for it for long range shooting. I am having difficulty finding any such company who builds for the mauser, most seem tobe for the Remington 700 actions etc. Anybody have any suggestions, at a reasonable price?

What contour barrel do you have on it? I built a custom gun on a 1909 Argentine Mauser. I put a #1 Shilen barrel on it. I had a **** of a time finding a stock for it. I had to order a stock with a 1/2 inch barrrel channel and fit it to the barrel contour.

I went with a laminant stock. I could not find a synthetic stock to fit the barrel. I thought about ordering a synthetic stock and filling in the large channel with glass bedding. But decided not to.
