Looks like Messenger may be down since the crash - I just logged in by chance and found two new messages (usually these pop up as soon as I hit the forum).

I also can't reply to messages in the Inbox.

Mike,

Another reason we are upgrading the forum!  This new platform is still Ikonboard, as everyone is used to, but I think at least either five or six generations newer!  It won't have the glitches we've encountered over the last year or so, plus it's much more secure than the version we currently are running!

The messenger system on the new version is nothing short of asesome in its features and flexibility!  Sorry folks, rather than go through and spend the time debugging this version, we're investing that time to put up something far better!

Most everyone on the forum should have received an email (if you registered using a REAL, valid email address), concerning the upgrade.  It will take place tomorrow, Thursday, 07 February 2002 between the hours of 9am and 3pm.  There will be portions of the website up and down periodically throughout that time period, after which we'll be online with a complete remake of the website.  It will be easier to navagate, have a better, more comprehensive and lightning fast search for the entire website, a few new features, a new look, new articles, a new forum platform, a re-designed, and now interactive gunuts, with it's own web address, www.GuNuts.com as well as other changes I think all here will appreciate.

One last note regarding the upgrade:  For those of you who have messages stored in your personal messenger box here on the forum, you will need to save whatever of those messages you want to preserve, into text files and save on your hard-drives, as with the new upgrade of the forum, you will lose all current messages!  We're sorry for this inconvenience, but we have no way around this problem!  However, this is the only information that will be sacraficed during this upgrade.  All the posts that are current, and archived on the forum will remain in the same familiar format you've come to expect, they'll just be more secure, in a more stabil platform, and in a package that is so feature filled that you'll have to take some time familiarizing yourself with the added capabilities availabe to each user!

I hope you all have a great day, and we'll be working not only on bullets today, but putting the final touches on many aspects of the new website upgrade for your benefit and pleasure!

God Bless,

Marshall

Thanks Marshall... makes sense.

One other thing comes to mind.  You mentioned that an email is going out to tell people about the changes, and this is a very good thing.  But.... some of us have changed our email since the initial sign-up.  I have, and I'm sure that others have also.  Since I didn't receive the note that you mentioned, I'm thinking that the database may not have my current email address.

So is there a way for those of us to check and/or update our email addresses in your database?  Although I am on the forum nearly every day I'd still like for you to have my current email address.

Hi, Mike:
Just edit your profile. Hit the Profile button that's on the third line down from Sixgunner's box. Those of us who live in Saskatchewan, Arizona & Indiana have to edit twice a year when the rest of the continent makes the #### Stupid Time switch.

Bye
Jack
