Hi All,
After not being able to sight in an old Miroku MLR I decided to check the rings and bases in some detail.
I discovered the windage screws were stuffed and even snapped one in the process of removal.

I asked what do I replace it with as I have also bought a new Redfield 3-9*40 scope to mount.

Do the Leupold Browning BLR mounts fit?

Thanks

As far as I can tell, the rifles are pretty much one and the same. So, My vote is "absolutely"!!

HOWEVER, there are three different versions of the BLR mentioned for bases on Midway USA: BLR, BLR w/flat top, and BLR Lightning.

Perhaps some time looking at the pictures on Midway for those various different bases/types might be worth while:

Should I go for one piece or 2 piece bases?

does anyone know if a picatinny base would fit?
I have only used 2 piece Weaver type bases on my BLRs. On some BLR models it appears that 2 piece is all that's available (BLR Lightning). The Weaver type mounts seem to mount the rear ring just slightly more forward, which from my experience could be a good thing depending on the scope you use. If a 1 piece Leupold, Burris or Redfield base is used the rear ring would be a tad more forward still, it appears. All my BLRs have fairly brisk recoil (.358, .325WSM, & .450 Marlin) and I have found that the two piece bases and Warne rings I've used have worked very well. Warne Maxima rings can be used with either two piece Weaver or Warne mounts. The Weavers come in both aluminum or steel and the Warnes are steel, if that matters to you.

Good Luck!
