Fine Sunday in Western Oregon. 42 degrees, overcast and misty at 9AM. At the range before 10.

Working up some loads for my '92 Rossi Puma 45lc. Have some Beartooth Bullets in 340 and 300 gr. Also some cast bullets from a local guy in 250 gr. Loaded up some various H4227 loads, running 17.5 to 21.5. Not for most pistols. Installed a new Marbles front sight with gold bead to go with the new tang peep. The folding rear is on back order.

340 gr. bullet with 21.5 gr. H4227 averaged 1280 with a spread of 30.

340 gr. bullet with 19.5 gr. H4227 averaged 1014 with a spread of 15.

340 gr. bullet with 17.5 gr. H4227 averaged 980 with a spread of 40.

300 gr. bullet with 21.5 gr. H4227 averaged 1112 with a spread of 30

300 gr. bullet with 19.5 gr. H4227 averaged 1080 with a spread of 30

Also shot some 300WSM, 150 gr. Hornady GMX, 52 gr. H4895 running right at 2700

300WSM 110 gr. Speer Hot Cor, 60.5 gr. running right at 3235

That 340 grain at 1,280 would work on just about anything. Do you have chrono #s and charge weight for the 250 grain LRNFP?

6.3 gr Red Dot 250 gr LRNFP. Chrono'd out of the Puma 20" barrel: 962 983 980 1002 990 998 991

I felt comfortable shooting these in the Blackhawk, but not any of the replicas.

Had the shooting pad and the quilted lined leather jacket to cushion the shoulder.
