Boy, we just keep getting snow. Jack, we've got to talk to the supplier. I'm sure if they check the requisition they've got the address wrong. We must be getting your shipment!   <!--emo&;)--><img src="http://beartoothbullets.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo-->      IDShooter

Hi, ID:
We got the biggest storm of the winter yesterday, and it was a welterweight.  I've burned maybe 5 gallons of diesel plowing snow this winter, compared to 50 on average.  I haven't started the tractor in over a month and this storm (can't call it a old-fashioned rip-snorter of a blizzard) didn't blow up any critical drifts.  The sun will take care of the others soon.

Bye

It was pretty rough here in s.w. Idaho, this morning, too. Got at least an inch of snow but it melted off in about two hours. I almost couldn't get out of the house it was so bad!

You guys gotta get outta the deep freeze and move down here to the sun belt.

Hi, Guys:
The storm sucked that big old arctic high in behind it.  15°F below last night and it'll likely hit it that again to-night.

BTW, Leanwolf.  The kids sure like those little S&W grips more than the big Herretts.

Bye

Hey guys,
We had several more inches overnight and more forecast for tomorrow. I love it when I'm watching the weather forecast at noon and it says we may have an inch by late this afternoon while I already have four inches on my snow indicator (aka upside down birdbath) and it's still coming down gangbusters!
Leanwolf, that sunbelt sounds like a great idea just now!                       IDShooter

Hi again,
This is what we got overnight. My "snow indicator" was cleaned off last night before bed.

Send some snow down to central Texas, guys... or I am going to have to mow the lawn this weekend!

Last year we set a record here in the Spokane/ Couer d'Alene area for the length of time with snow continuously covering the ground - over 180 days, I can't remember the exact number. Basically 6 months of winter. Our standard weather forecast from late October through early March is "cloudy with a chance of snow". Once this fellow who had just moved here saw a glowing orb in the noonday winter sky and asked if the moon was up already. I told him that was the sun and he wasn't sure if I was kidding or not! Unfortunately I wasn't.
The upside is that summer is perfect and I only have to mow 12-15 times a year!      IDShooter

I was under the weather when that storm hit that ID Shooter was describing, but my wife Gayle took this photo about nine in the morning on 20 March 2002.

Great springtime shot of Idaho!

God Bless,

Hi, Guys:
The first day of spring wasn't.  0°F / -18°C  and a 30 knot NW breeze.  It blew everything that was loose into the yard and rearranged the drifts there.  I had to fire up the tractor and doze out the yard for the first time this winter.

Bye

Jack, that's just terrible.  If you guys would quit hogging all the snow, I wouldn't have had to mow the lawn yesterday.

Marshall and IdShooter, you guys just keep all that snow up there! It's melting off here, and I want to get out and look for some sheds.

Marshall, glad to know you're up and about a bit. Hope your health improves!

Jack, glad your kids like those grips. I've always favored them for the N frame, other than for my Deacon Deason grips for my Mdl. 57.

Well, folks, we are in our 6th month of the fluffy white stuff.  Actually it's packed down quite hard now and in some places is more glacier like than snow.  But it did snow quite a bit last night.  Don't know about the other other AK residents out there, but I'm ready for the creeks to start flowing again and the salmon run to start.  Mike G, I haven't seen a blade of grass since October and I'm sure beginning to miss it.
