I am looking at getting a 300 win mag or 7 mm encore pistol.I was wondering if you guys would or wouldn't put a muzzle break on it.

Well, it depends, do you think you will prefer less recoil and more noise or less noise and more recoil. There is good hearing protection on the market that could be used while hunting.

You mean brake and yes they are good ideas if you are shooting solo but not range friendly. Reduce fatigue and shock to your shoulder, what's not to like. My 300 WBY feels softer on my shopuilder than my single shot H&R 308. Shooting it is expensive but more fun.

I use Muzzle brakes on most of single-shot specialty handguns

Holland's new Radial muzzle brake is my favorite.
