we were hunting deer a couple of weeks ago my son walked for a couple hrs. seen some doe. luckely he didnt see a buck. or trouble he would have had. he fell coming back to the jeep. when he got back he decided to check his gun. so he picked out a rock. and squeezed the trigger. nothing happend, no noise so he pulled the bolt back to find an empty cartridge. he started to put another shell in the gun and try again. I caught it just before he fired. and told him to check the barrel. he pulled the bolt back out and tried to blow through the barrel there was a bullet stuck solid in the barrel. factory load with no powder. so folks he was lucky. dont always asume that factory loads are perfect. if I wouldnt have caught that! he may have been badly hurt or worse. anytime you pull the trigger and you hear nothing. check your weapon if the bullet doesnt come out you will not hear any noise. shooting at deer would have gotten him killed. god was watching over him that day.

Been there done that, luckily it was the last round or there most certainly would have been problems. It is unfortunate that we get so focused we don't actually see what is happening or not happening right under our nose, literally.
