Hello folks, looking for some info on my browning sweet sixteen. I cannot find the build date on my sweet no matter where I search. The serial number is ( A over 48 ). This gun is all original and in excellent shape. The Browning web site doesn't recognize it in its serial number break down. The blue book mentions an A prefix but it does'nt explain it. Hopefully there's a Browning buff out there that can help me. Thank you.

The "A" prefix was used during the 1957 through 1958 period for the Sweet Sixeen. The "T" prefix was used for the standard 16 gauge model A5. The numbers ranged from 1 thru 10900 during that time.

If your gun has a number of 48 then I would assume it was made early in 1957.
