I got this 30-40 Krag from my mom that used to be my dad's and was goint to take it out this year to hunt deer but I scoured 4 counties in mid-michigan and came up with NO ammo for it. Anyone in MI that might be able to help?

Also, looking for the original rear sites. They were taken off and replaced. Everything else being original, I'd like to restore the sites that way also. The front site is original so I don't need that, just the rear configuration.

Thanks

Check Midway, Grafs and MidSouth for loaded ammo and/or brass. I lucked out when friend closed his gun store and retired. Picked up couple boxes loaded ammo from him. I have bought brass from one of the above mail order companies but can't remember which one. Course this was several years ago before the shortages of everything happened.

Krag rear sight

You might try Gun Parts Corporation at www.gunpartscorp.com or Sarco, Inc. at www.sarcoinc.com. I see Krags on the used gun racks from time to time and sometimes they have the original rear sights. I bought a sporterized Krag for $115 and was shooting it at the local rifle range when a fellow asked to buy the rear sight. I told him I was still using it. Take care...

I got brass for my wife's 30-40 carbine from MidwayUSA.com.
