(I know the "Australian Shepherd" is not Australian, but let's just go with it for now)

LOML's best friend's husband just got a new "Aussie" male pup to go with his two 11-year-old dogs, Murphy and Digger. He runs cattle and the dogs have made it much easier for him and he wants the new dog to learn how and take the load off the older dogs.

But he needs a name to go with Murphy and Digger.

I suggested "Dog" after the character in "Footrot Flats" (which my Aussie brother-in-law introduced to my family) but he didn't go for it.

Any good Aussie dog names he could try?:D

"Dog" from Footrot Flats is a New Zealand creation.

Ocker, Blue or Bluey are good names for dogs.

p.s. I have never heard of an Australian Shepherd.

a 2 syllable name, (I read 2 syllable names worked best) Joey. If it matters to you which litter the pup is from, 1st litter names start with A, 2nd litter- B, etc. Mine were 3rd litter & named them Caesar & Cassie

Bucky

As a young child we had 2 consecutive Collies, Bucky l & Bucky ll. They were fine herders/ babysitters, & would pull us away from the bulkhead (deep water) or other dangerous places by the diaper.

My cousin has Australian Shepherds which are working cattle dogs. Their names are Rowdy, Wrangler and Kelly.

I've had a couple Aussies. Great companions and bloody smart.
