[El Lobo]

Hey Guys,

I have 100 new .358 Norma Mag cases, two pounds of IMR 3031, and a couple of boxes of Speer 180 grain jacketed bullets. I'd like to put these together for deer season. Anyone have a reference for this combination of components?

I know that IMR 3031 is not optimum for this cartridge, but have a couple of pounds on hand. If I can get a high loading density, I'd give up some fps to use the resource. Even at 2700-2800 fps, the 180 gr bullet should be Thor's Hammer on whitetail.

I have a reference for 65 -- 72gr of 3031 with a 150 gr bullet, and 58.7 -- 67gr of 3031 with a 200 gr bullet, but haven't been able to locate data for 180 gr bullet.

My Speer manual was written before IMR reformulated the 3031 powder. It may be time to buy a new one or go with the Hodgdon or Lee manuals and breakdown and buy another pound of powder.
