I like the old steel Weaver scopes made in El Paso. They look correct on the old blued guns. Look for a k-8 or k-10 They are just right for field shooting, and work great for small game hunting. This is just my option. But the line of new scopes out there just don't match the style of the vintage rifle that you have. I have the same rifle in 222 and Im using a Weaver

I have a 3-9x Bushnell 32mm on mine.

Savage made a cheap steel side mount (junk) but a Weaver side mount with a separate side base works perfectly.
