Just picked up a RUGER SINGLE SIX 22 LR/MAG and I'm having a great time shooting it at the range. I didn't have to touch the sights on it. Right now I feel pretty good about putting all my shots in a 6" circle at 20/25 feet. The barrel is 4 5/8's. Next one I buy I think I will go with the 6.5" barrel. Here lately Cabela's and Bass Pro have been selling either Winchester or Federal 22 LR'S, 525 count for as low as 19.99. At that price I'm having a great time.

New 22 Revolver

I have a 6 1/2" stainless Ruger Single six with 22LR and Mag cylinders.I found CCi standard velocity performs well and are the right price. These are used in a 25yd allotted time , multi position reduced size steel standard gun local competition and 10 pin at the same range. The Ruger is competitive against double action revolvers and semi autos.

A friend has an identical 22Mag and uses it as a carry gun on the ranch. I use a Ruger 96/22 lever in 22Mag. Great for dog size and smaller at sensible ranges.

I also have a 6.5" SS in Stainless. I initially bought it for small bore metallic silhouette, and it worked real good until the developers bought the land behind the range and it closed. When my eyes were 20 years younger, it would shoot 6" groups at 100M. Nowadays it's minute of beer can out to 40-50yds or so.

I never saw one that wouldn't shoot most ammo well, mine likes Winchester HiSpeed stuff best, and shoots quite well with Federal 50gr .22 Mag.

Everyone should have at least one.

I have compared accuracy of .22 LR versus .22 WMR and I cannot see any difference in my Single Six.
This really pleases me, because I understand the bore is a little bigger for the .22 WMR caliber. Have sandbag test results been good for all you other shooters too?

Thats real good shootin' if you ask me. Maybe when I buy that 6.5" I'll go longer in distance.
