Reloadin' them .223s...

I use the RCBS small-base dies because I want the round to chamber-- every time. BL-C(2) is a good powder, as is Accurate Arms 2230. I have loaded nearly 2600 with H-322. The max is listed as 23.0 grains, but I have loaded them to 25.0 and gotten very good accuracy. A friend has a Nikon M-223 scope that is calibrated for bullet drop out to 600 yards if the muzzle velocity is 3250 fps. I got 3271 fps out of 24.5 grains of H-322 from a 24-inch barrel. The 2600 I have loaded are 24.5 grains of H-322 with a 55-grain FMJ. I use whatever primer I can find. Currently using up my supply of Winchester and have several bricks of CCI at the ready. My cases are pick-ups from the range or stuff I have shot myself. I never buy factory ammo...

Bottleneck cartridges have to be trimmed. I've never trimmed a pistol case. Lee case trimmer is cheap and effective, else get a lathe trimmer, or a high end one like Dillon or Giraud.

AA2230 is great, it covers almost all .223 bullets(hence the name), meters easily, and it pretty cheap.

.223 is a military cartridge, so brass pickup may require removing primer crimp with a tool like RCBS(15$ and slow and laborious) or Dillon($100 and fast) provide.
