Im considering a new trigger for my model 70 in 270 win. Iv had gunsmiths do trigger jobs on guns in the past but I want one that I can adjust on my own. Opinions and comments welcome. Dont hold nothin' back...

When did you get the rifle Rubberduck? All Mod 70 triggers I'm familiar with (up to when FN began building them) were the easiest to adjust, and excellent. I don't know about the FN triggers.

I've got one of the new MOA triggers that is excellent, and an older 6.5x55 model 70 that adjusted down to about three, but nothing compares to a jewel trigger. I have three set at 2#s, one at 1.8#.
If you've never had one of the Jewells, you might want to try one. Your Model 70 would become your favorite rifle, if it isn't already.

Shawn, I purchased the rifle new in 1988. If it is very easy to adjust I may just go that route since it would obviously be cheaper. The trigger now doesnt have any creep or much overtravel it is just a heavy pull (around 6 lbs).
