No. I've asked my dealer to check with distributors, and no one has one, not even Davidson's. I asked Winchester about it on their Facebook page, but haven't had a response.
Welcome, Jim, but I think you're making a mistake! Those peeps are hard to beat, and if you were to get a fold-down middle (barrel) sight, you could have the use of both!Hi folks, I am a new forum member and have a couple questions about my model 71 standard (348). The rifle has a Redfield peep on it and I really want to replace the barrel blank with the correct semi buckhorn sight.
Can you all advise me of what model rear sight Winchester used on the model 71 (1954)? I'm wanting to remove the peep and replace with blank screws and install the barrel sight. Any help on where I might find the correct sight would really help as well.
Any advice would be really appreciated.
Thanks a lot, Jim
I have one of those on my "new" 71. My older (1936) deluxe has the factory bolt mounted one.The redfield on my 71' is not a bolt peep such as came with the deluxe rifles. It is the side mounted type and I believe its marked with an "E".
You don't buy clothing, cars, or other major quality of life items without that made in the USA label?A real "shame" the model 71 will not say (made in the U.S.A.) !![]()
I would purchase one in a heartbeat if that were the case.![]()

I have about half of everything you listed but.......I seriously doubt that 2bits is a Xenophobe, don't confuse nationalism and acting in the best interests of your countries citizens and your neighbors with bigotry. You don't buy clothing, cars, or other major quality of life items without that made in the USA label?
If that is true, you are missing out on some really good stuff.
German watches
Swiss clocks
Irish woolens
Polish vodka
Italian sports cars
Italian leather shoes
French bread
Xenophobia is an ugly thing.
Miroku guns are a thing of beauty, for those not wearing bigot blinders
Still interested. The redfield on my 71' is not a bolt peep such as came with the deluxe rifles. It is the side mounted type and I believe its marked with an "E".
Not to mention those darned Limey guns like Holland&Holland or Rigby or those doggone Italian and Spanish Shotguns like Beretta.A real "shame" the model 71 will not say (made in the U.S.A.) !![]()

OK OK, I'll nip this post in the bud before it goes down river anymore! I am not partial to the Japanese or their country understand. I have family members in the grave (fought in the South Pacific) at a national cemetery and me bringing a JAP made gun home, would have gotten me hung to a tall oak tree. I lived my younger life listening to those in radio land, all about those South Pacific Battles and I sure as ham & beans not going to put any of my money in their country's economy period. Oh yeah, my father hated the JAPS!!!
Yes, I own several Italian shotguns & rifles, not to mention a couple of English rifles too. So I don't like the Japanese people a whole lot understand. So anybody who has a problem with that can Kiss My Royal AMERICAN ARSE TWICE. I also don't give a Tinker's Blessing about the ISIS or Taliban
