I've got a Marlin .30-30 and I was wondering about feed back using the Federal Premium Vital Shok Nosler Partition. Specifically, every picture I seen of them seem to be a pointed bullet and, as I'm new with this rifle, I was wondering if they are safe to use in a lever action?

The 170grn Partitions for the 30-30 are round noses, they are ok in tubular magazines.

Dave, a couple months ago, Guns and Ammo had a good article on reloading the 30-30 with premium bullets and one of them was the Nosler 170 gr jacketed roundnose partition. I added the loading sheet to my data file. It really had some good info.

And pointed bullets are not safe in the tubular magazine.

Not safe - for sure except the Hornady Leverevolution. Only exception is the Honady which has soft, flexible, plastic tip.
