Took this just a few minutes ago.... about 14 degrees here at eleven in the morning! No, the photo isn't out of focus... it's blurred from the torrents of falling snow.

Yep, still springtime in Idaho!

God Bless,

Snow?

Well Jack, it's that fluffy white precipitation that we're getting at the rate of about two inches per hour right now! It's really laying it down out there, and a bitter cold 15-30 mph wind out of the NE... methinks someone should have shot that groundhog last month!

God Bless,

Marshall

She was -25 here this A.M. Had to button up my vest. besto

P.S. Is there an open season on that critter? Looks like a moose with a short upper lip. Friend of mine in Cal. had some real trained "jumping" jacks. We used them chasing boars and barb wire fences were no obstacle. Get off, climb through, hold the reins above the fence and say "jump". They did!!!

Marshall: Try a high of thirty degrees today. Tis today was extremely warm, considering it has been below zero for the last couple of days. Now for tommorrow night they are talking rain. You keep getting all that snow should haul some up by Jack M. so he gets use to it.

Jim,

I wouldn't discredit the poor critter by claiming I was that good-looking!

Oh, freeze drying only takes about three hours with a good stiff NE wind once the snow stops falling!

God Bless,

Marshall

I used to live in Nebr. and the family hails from Colo. and Okla., so I've got an idea of how cold it gets out there.
You know, I think I've found a colder, least wise it feels colder to me, place then the Rockie Mtns. Upstate New York and Maine, it's cold and damp cuts right through the bones. Can't think of any reason to live up there unless some court had sentenced me for some horrible crime.
As for the pretty face in the photo, I'd bet he'd be right pleased for you to be part of the family.

Hi,
I was hoping to get a picture of the horizontal snow yesterday, too, but work interfered with my plans! All I know is my window was frozen shut on my truck when I tried to check the mail. Sunday I grilled deer steaks (admittedly wearing a jacket&#33 and this morning my grill has 8" of snow on it. Sheeesh. What's a guy gotta do for some warm weather around here? So sorry about your -14 Jack. My step-father-in-law ranches in eastern Montana and sometimes gets -20 or -30, but he says it's not too bad since it only stays a week or two. Not for me. I nearly froze to death my first few years in Idaho, I don't think I would enjoy -30.
Interestingly, the first year I visited his ranch he had some pigs with short, round little ears. I asked what breed they were, and his typical one-word answer -" frostbit". IDShooter

Arky Pete- It's downright balmy here in Maine today. I too have been driving around w/ the window down. It's broke. By the way, we have a saying up here: "It's a piss poor fisherman who can't get his wife a good second job." See Ya

This one is looking west across the prairie. The mountains are in Washington. If the resolution was better you could see Mount Spokane that Marshall has referred to at the right side of the picture.

And this is the last one I promise! This was taken about two miles from my house, facing Northeast and shows some of the mountains where I hunt. ID

Hi, ID:
Looks like you got as much snow yesterday as we got all winter. They forecast 2 inches, changed it to 2 centimeters and we got 2 millimeters. The storm's sliding through North Dakota and never got north of the border. It'll probably be over Steve's place in Wisconsin by Saturday and it'll suck that Arctic high along with it. It got above zero F for a few hours today.

If something doesn't happen soon, it'll be a tough summer on pastures, crops and ducks. The gophers and grasshoppers will thrive.

Bye
Jack
