need help identifying old single shot .22 rifle.
bolt is in vertical psition and pulled rearwards(obviously)to eject shell.no name on gun anywhere.monogram style logo on top of chamber ,apears to be three
letters jf and possibly i with a circle around it.can email picture to anyone
who thinks they can help. have been told it may be an ace or cooey rabbit gun
but cannot find pictures to compare.

Hi, ry:
   Glad to have another Saskatchewan stubblejumper on board.  I can't remember seeing a Cooey that the bolt handle goes vertical on. A neighbour has a book on Cooeys and I'll check with him.

glad to be here , found a picture in my 1941 marshall wells catalog showing a
cooey rabbit rifle witch looks to be the same as mine. New price $8.20 canadian.
the sporting goods section was a very intersting read to say the least. entire catalog is probably 2000 pages (will check tomorrow as i browse through somemore). will take gun to the Yorkton Sask. gun show this weekend ( Feb 23-24) and see about identity ans parts( need stock).

just got back from the show in Yorkton, SK.  A pretty decent show overall, lots of people  ( some buying- some selling or trading ). Was looking for a winchester or marlin lever gun in .44 mag but struck out completly. Found out the old .22
is a FN  1912 .22lr trainer built until around 1935 and found a dealer with one that has a good stock but the reciever is cracked on the top of the chamber so i am hoping to make one good complete gun and with some epoxy on the bad stock make a wall hanger .

Check Allan's Armory and Century and the milsurpshooter.net. Some of these can be had pretty cheap. There are different trainers from a lot of countries listed sometimes according to availability. I understand the trainers in some models are very good shooters.

I have an old F/N Single shot boy's style rifle that retuned to Liege for rechambering to .22 extra long in 1898 according to the proof marks. This is a very light rifle that weighs all of 3 1/2 lbs....

Tell me about the extractor on your gun- is it on the bolt, or is there a seperate rail running under the breech for it? I am 350 miles to the east of you in Winnipeg, and gunnutz is back on line-

Just a quick p.s. here- a rifle made in 1912 predates high velocity ammo- I'd keep it to standard velocity, or subsonic ammo- likely how the receiver cracked on that soon to be wall hanger....
