I received a 16 gauge Browning shotgun (automatic) from my grandfather in approximately 1960. He told me at the time the gun was quite old. It has a serial number of x2149. I presumed it would be easy to figure out the date of the gun from the serial number online, but so far it has not been easy.
Any ideas of the best way of figuring out the year the gun was made? It is still in near perfect condition and shoots as well as the first day I got it.
Thank you,
Baja
