I recently had my Marlin .444 and BLR fitted with the leupold quick detachable system, however now the open sights won't work as the back sight is too low.  Do any of you folks have any suggestions?  My gunsmith suggested Williams sights that fold down when the scope is mounted.  Thanks-Karl

Mike and Bill- Just thought I'd let you guys know the reason I chose the Leupold system. It worked great on my Model 70 and was nice to be able to hunt without a scope in dense bush especially out here where the grizzlies have been a problem lately.  Also I have now three firearms set up so that all the scopes are interchangeable.  I tried the Weaver system but didn't like the mounts sticking up the way they do(when you leave them on the rifle).  I have found that the Leupold does return you to zero when removed and replaced on the rifle.  Maybe I'm strange but there are times when I like to hunt with a scope and times when I don't.  Just thought I'd let yu know-Karl
