I have a rifle, wich for sure has a .223 barrel. From time to time I have used .224 jacketed bullets in this rifle, as they are more easily obtainable. So far I have seen no disadvantages, and for sure the bullet comes out with the barrel diameter. Is there a risk for a more rapid wear of the barrel?

It would be nice if someone with experience in this matter could share some information.

I have a Savage, which has a .223 barrel, and the accuracy has never been as good as the cartridge is capable of. I had it altered to the K version and it improved only a little.
I always attributed this to the fact that so many .224 bullets were shot through it.
This is only opinion.
