anyone have any knowledge about a Parker-Hale Mauser? saw one today in a local shop 6MM Remington with a heavy barrel,bolt handle is flat and polished like a butter knife.

Those are probably Yugo receivers, bet it says "Zastava" (may have spelled that wrong) under the stock line. Commercial mausers, nice actions from what I have seen, that were stocked in England and shipped over here.

Should be a nice rifle.

I say they are FN mauser actions and as good as any bolt rifle made today, maybe better. Like it? Buy it, likely the finest bolt rifle you'll ever own!! Simply my personal opinion, of course!

for a time the actions were made in spain if memory serves me right, regardless of their point of origin they are a rock solid rifle and generally very good shooters.

My uncle has a P-H 1200 .270. Beautiful rifle and a real shoter, too.

For some reason, I believe the gun was mfd. in Birmingham, England.

Likely stocked, yes, they will have a UK address on top but that's not where the receivers were made. Pull the action and see what it says underneath.......

Also what part of the country is this gun located.

I would love to own this rifle.
I have a soft spot for 6mm Remington.

If Memory serves me well Parker Hale of the UK USED Military recievers to make their guns . The rifles were very good shooters but try to buy a stock or something for them . They have not been making arms for awhile .

I have a Parker-Hale that I have had for over 40 years in 30-06.

IF you can buy that gun for $ 400 and it is in good shape it is a steal.
I think enough of the quality of these guns that you couldn't buy mine for twice that amount.

I think it is one of the best quality-mass produced guns ever made.Just an opinion after 40+ years of testing the product!!
