Hello everyone,
In reading Ackley's Volume #1, I have noticed a couple of wildcats that would seem to be the same as the 444, however pre-dating it. One is the 44 Lever Power, and the other is the 44 Van Houten. Both of these seem to be based on the 30-40 or 303 case, and are designed to work in the standard 94 Winchester action.

What kind of performance could be expected from the 444 Marlin, if the pressures were kept in the 40,000 c.u.p. range of the standard action as opposed to the Big Bore?

Thanks Much
