Primers for my .454 Casull

I finally have my Encore completely set-up, along with my loading bench down here in Iowa, it's sweet, I finally get my place to go and get away from it all. I've never loaded for the .454 before and I need some primer recommendations for it. Do I use magnum pistol primers or small rifle primers? I have some Remington 7 1/2 BR primers, are they a good choice or should I check out the CCI line? Let me know if you're experienced with this round, and alos feel free to send me some lower-powered loads for starting out with, I've read that I can use Universal, but how much before I run into trouble? TIA

When I first started working loads for the 454 Casull, I used Remington SMRP they worked fine in warm weather, but using Max loads and using ball powders in cold weather, I thought I would go to the Mag primer for better burn, worked very well no problems and powders burnt very clean, noticed the Rem SMRP did to burn as clean either. FPS does go up so In warm weather decrease loads if worked up in the cold, I just play it safe. Aim small hit small. RAMbo.
