Primers for my .454 Casull

I finally have my Encore completely set-up, along with my loading bench down here in Iowa, it's sweet, I finally get my place to go and get away from it all. I've never loaded for the .454 before and I need some primer recommendations for it. Do I use magnum pistol primers or small rifle primers? I have some Remington 7 1/2 BR primers, are they a good choice or should I check out the CCI line? Let me know if you're experienced with this round, and alos feel free to send me some lower-powered loads for starting out with, I've read that I can use Universal, but how much before I run into trouble? TIA

Selma,

My wife says I'm coming back the middle of April, so that's when I'm coming back.....unless she changes her mind. I do shoot for fun and really enjoy load development. Florida shooting has been a change for me as the indoor range is off-hand shooting that is a challenge for me. For some strange reason I seem destined to "jerk" at least one of every ten...on a good day.

Doubt if I would I would help much as you sure seem to be on the road to some good shooting. I'll drop you a electronic note when I get back.
