Go to Marlin Talk Big Bore site.

Billwill, states his Puma feeds like sh!t,and after only a few rounds the stock cracked. He does not trust in it enough to take it hunting.

Pondercat, states starting before 2000fps extraction becomes a problem with 325grs.He had to back off to 1850fps to get proper extraction.Accuracy is 1 1/2" -2" at 50yds and but can hit a milk jug at 100yds.Hot loads lead to sticky extraction and VERY SHORT CASE LIFE.

Their words,not mine!

I'm sure even though they are on Marlin Talk, the problems are real.I would think there would be problems with any light, tube fed lever action similar to the Win M94,shooting loads at 65,000psi.WOW

300grs
454 2200fps
405Win 2450fps,custom Handload
405win 2250fps,Factory
416/284 2500fps,Quickload
45/70 2424fps,Hodgdon
458x2 2412fps,COTW
416Barnes 2355fps,COTW
450Marlin 2321fps,Hodgdon
358Win 2250fps,Barnes
444Marlin 2150fps,Buffalo

Thats impressive company the small 454 keeps.Especially while some of those hold twice as much powder, and are shot out of 26in(416/284),27.5in(358Win) and 28in barrels(405Win,Custom)to achieve their smoking ballistics.

Anyway,Good Day Enforcer

Yep that's why I bought mine I know what the ballistic were for the Pistol and knew in a 20" tube it would be an asome round. Man you want to piss a big bore fan off-tell him that your little Rossi your carrying will do just about everything his 405 Win or 45-70 can do with half the powder charge!!!!:D
You are right its one bad little round. No doubt about that.
