Has anyone tried the lead free Nosler 35 gr ballistic tip varmint bullet in .224/ .22 cal. ????

I haven't personally loaded any, but I've seen the results. They shoot pretty good out to a hundred yards or so, but after that they seem to "fall off" in accuracy. These were shot out of a Sako .223 with a 1:12 twist. At 200 yards, they seem to start to tumble and group size gets bigger, much bigger.

I was going to try them, but after what I've seen, I'll stick with real bullets.

Would imagine the Sectional Density is far less than that of a lead core bullet.

I think the reason the nosler 35 gr didn't do good over the 100 yds. is it is long . The nosler is .735 long and the sierra 35 gr v-max is .518 long , that is ,217 difference. I got some to try in my 221 fireball , but I'm only will be using them at 50 yds. with them slow down. Like 1700 to 2200 FPS. Well see.

sorry it is a Hornady 35 gr. v-max not a sierra.
