I have several 500grain cast bulets to shoot up in my 45-70 Pedersoli sharps rifle..
I have lots of ox yoke bulle lube..My question is---will this lube be ok to use on the bullets
when using smokeless powder? I will be keeping the velcity close to black powder velocitys..

Or do you think I should melt it down and add some bees wax to it....Thanks--John

I would get a small bottle of Lee Liquid Alox and coat them in that. I don't know, off-hand, how the BP lube will react to the smokeless? I note that Ox Yoke says their lube will not mix with petroleum, so it may not mix with bee's wax either? If you have only a very few of these and you have some bee's wax, melt it 50:50 with some mineral oil. It may not work great, but worst case you have some leading to clean out. Not the end of the world.

I guess to answer my own question,I did some research and found out
that the ox yoke lube is for either black powder and or smokeless...
So I thought I would pass this along to anyone else who might be
interested as well
