I'm shopping for a new 30-30 "heavy weight" and was wondering if anyone out there can provide input on the nose diameters for recently manufactured RCBS 30-180FN and 30-180SP. I'd also really like to know the meplat width on RCBS 30-180SP before purchasing. The RCBS 30-200 Silhouette is also of interest to me but I'm afraid it's just too darn long to be compatible with a M94 in 30-30.

Other possibilities under my consideration are SAECO#301 and Lyman 311644. Unfortunately SAECO#307 seems to have a little too much nose circumference for my '53 vintage M94 with its tight (slightly less than .3000") bore.

Thanks,

Sounding good! I gotta ask... how does it group? Can you give me your best guess at a BC for this bullet? It doesn't look as streamlined as 311041 but all that sectional density should aid in velocity retention. My best guess by just lookin' at it would be around .220.
