I need a trimmer for a 45-70, the RCBS catalog says # 45-R. What is is the difference between the #45 and 45R. I can seen to find the later.

I don't have the answer but suggest calling RCBS or contacting them online. They are very courteous and willing to answer all of your questions.

The .45R is a couple of thousands larger in diameter. I think the "R" stands for rifle and the regular .45 is for pistols. (The rifle .45 cals having slightly larger bores than .45 cal revolvers).

I usually use the .45 rather than the .45R for my .45-70s regardless.

Chris.
