I had someone pick up 100 lbs of reclaimed shot which was supposed to be cleaned, screened and graphited. It looked a big large and brown. I decided to try cleaining and it must have been coated with clay. I regraphited and now it looks good. My question is should I screen it to get rid of excess graphite and dust. I used about 1/8 tsp for 3 lbs (size of tumbler) May have gotten a bit to much, you can see excess on the bottom of the jugs I put it in. Will it just blow out ok? Probably really get the bottles dirty but I suppose all reclaimed will do that with the graphite.
Thanks,
Kurt

Graphite should more or less settle to the bottom, it won't cause any problems besides getting your hands and loading tools filthy.

Have used several 100 pounds in muzzle loaders without any problems, and used the same reclaimed shot in cartridge guns for hand thrown targets and rabbit hunting. Kind of short range shooting, where the wider spread isn't a real issue.
