Recrowning a Rifle Barrel

I have been trying to figure out the recent loss of accuracy in a rifle. Already checked all possible variables; mounts, sights, tight screws, bedding. Rifling seems to be OK but two of the four lands seem to be slightly warned out at the crown. Should slightly shortening and recrowning the barrel be considered before deciding to replace it? Should I expect improvement in accuracy after this process?

Just a Thought, Why not cut a recessed Crown instead of shortening the barrel? Is the land wear so deep that you would Need to cut the barrel shorter to get a full dimension set of lands?
I have read that people have recrowned barrels using a Lee Case Trimmer tool with a suitable diameter pilot, giving a 'Recessed Target Crown' that shoots very well.
