Hi i want to reload light loads for target practice for my glock .40. what do you guys think would be the best load? I have a few ideas but i am new to this.

I'd try reloading 185 grain Hornady bullets ahead of starting loads of 800x or Blue Dot

Stay away from lead bullets of any style.

If you have not gotten one already, get one of those Redding case sizing dies that completely remove the pregnant belly from the case. It is a push through sizer type die.
As said, stay away from cast but plated do fine and are cheaper than jacketed usually. At least plated do not cause a problem with HKs which are in the same boat as Glocks regarding the use of cast bullets with their polygonal bores.
As to a specific load I cannot comment since I do not shoot enough 40 to make it worth my time reloading.

Yup - lead bullets and factory original Glock 40 S&W barrels = bad things!
