Hi,guys can anyone tell me what the optimum gap should be to make my rifle Free floating it has a bell & Carson synthetic stock and it is .223 it seems to be catching a little bit at the front end please help if you can thanks Pete.

If you can slide a business card thru all the way, you're in good shape.

Take a NEW $1 bill and if you can slide it from the receiver end all the way to the end of the barrel your okay. However if your barrel is a lightweight type then it will need some support near the tip of the stock.

He's in England so might need to be a pound note, Euro, etc.

Agreed that should be enough clearance, with a synthetic.

thanks guys we are still using £s but i get the idea! we don't use £1 notes now so i guess it would have to be a £5 note inflation a what a bummer thanks once again Pete
