I recently tried to clean my grandfathers remington 1100 which is about 30 years old. I coulnt pull the bolt handle out. My friend has a newer remington and the handle comes straight out, if anyone can help I would appreciate it. (By handle I mean what you pull back to chamber a round on the 1100)

Squirt some Kroil in around it, and then tap gently in all directions with a wooden handle of some type. The detent ball and spring are likely frozen/gummed up or rusty. See if that frees it any. Next, tie a length of parachute cord to it, tie it off to something strong, hold gun firmly and yank it so the cord pulls it straight out. Good luck.
