Does anyone have knowledge with the Rem. 700 VTR in .243 Win. ? How is the accuracy? Another concern of mine is the 22" barrel with muzzle brake seems that it might fall short in the velosity department.

I just bought one and didnt look on line until after i bought it and found nothing but bad reveiws 80% of them. That disapointed me well i went to the range yesterday and shot my new 243 vtr I sighted it in with win. 100 grn at 100 yards and shot a 1/2 in. group Then switched to the hornaday 58 grn. sst my first two shots were one hole i shot several thight clover leaf groups with some one holes THE GUN SHOT AWSOME RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX WITH A 3X9 NIKON BUCKMASTER SCOPE. ONE HOLERS RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX AT A 100 YARDS HELLO WHAT A GUN. The people that wrote bad reveiws need to learn how to breath and shoot proper its not the gun or the amo. I recomand this gun the groups were still tight with a warm barrel.Nice design rem.

vtr 243

i'm trying to imagine the need for a muzzle brake on calibers like the 223, 243, or even the 308. Since it is porting the gas straight up, is the idea to improve accuracy, in some way? Hard to imagine much better accuracy than my dad gets with his standard model 700 bdl, in 243. One hole is one hole...
the same with this gun i shoot one holers at a 100 with it 20in barrel hello if you cant shoot this gun acurate the problem is the person doing the shooting not the gun. Awsome gun

Vtr 243

i have a vtr in 223 and it shoots awesome, almost anything you get from remington is going to be a shooter. Not a huge fan of the brake though, seems to me that none of the cartridges the vtr is chambered for really require a brake and just make the gun unnecessarily loud.
hello were shooting guns here not bb guns. You should try a bow if the noise bothers you

Vtr 243

It will still direct far more blast at your ears. Its not needed either.

I would not take a gun with one for nothing.
i WARE HEARING PROTECTION MYSELF AND THE GUN SHOOTS ONE HOLERS RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX AT 100 YARDS WITH A 20 IN. BARREL THIS GUN SHOOTS VERY ACURATE IF YOU CAN SHOOT, IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS, ITS NOT THE GUN, hEARING PROTECTION IS RECUIRED AT THE GUN RANGES I GO TWO. AND THERE ARE A LOT LOUDER GUNS SHOOTING THERE THEN THE LITTLE VTR 243.

The REM VTR 243 loves the hornaday superformance 58 grn. SST. I shoot one holers at 100 with them nice gun nice round the 100 grn. win will work fine on white tail. 58 for varmint and coy. And if the muzzle brake bothers some one cut it off its not part of the rifilling its a 20 inch barrel and very acurate and shoots acurate warm. The barrel is acurate but yet light to carry for hunting. why carry around those long heavy bull barrels that dont shoot any more accurate.
