Has anyone had a problem with the remington 710? I bought a new remington 710 and noticed that there was alot of slack in the bolt. I tired to work the bolt quickly one day for a follow up shot on a nice size buck, but the bolt bound up on the side walls and jammed. I looked at the new remmington 770 when it just came out but it apears to have the same problem.

I know its not the only gun that would bind the bolt on. The remington 710 in a .30-06 was the first rifle i bought after having years of shooting under my belt. I was greatly disapointed with the rifle. I have since moved on to a winchester model 70 in a .300 magnum and havent had an issue with the bolt binding.

Think there is a reason these guns are on the used rack waiting for the next guy .
Marlin makes a fine bolt action for about the same money but the line is not cheap :)
