I had to replace the spring for the firing pin on my model 11. I have the square style firing pin, but they only sold one spring for the round and square firing pins, so the spring that I got is too long. Can anyone tell me how long to cut the spring for the square firing pins. Any help would be appreciated.

Wondering if you still have the old spring to compare? Count coils. Measure diameter and such. Will it fit when compressed and installed?

I've no experience with that one personal.

The diameter of new spring is right and old spring was broke in 5 pieces and I don't know if I found them all.

I just tore down a 20ga. M11 and the firing pin spring is 2.1" long. Bottom line is to cut yours just shorter than the shank where it rides so that there is plenty of pressure to keep the pin retracted when the bolt slams forward and prevent slam fires, but not so much that it interferes with the pin hitting the shell.
