I recently got a H&R Tamer .410 single-shot and would like to know if/where replacement barrels in rifle calibers are available. I have seen the barrel accessory program H&R offers, but I found it rather difficult to understand. Do barrels from H&R rifles simply not fit Tamer frames?
This is probably a stupid question with an obvious answer, but help is greatly appreciated.

The H&R website states, "Rifle barrels may be added to firearms manufactured since 2000 and only to frames (SB-2) that originated as a rifle, if frame passes inspection." Since the Tamer was shotgun only, rifle barrels will not be fit at the factory.

I don't know of any aftermarket installations.

If, however, you like/prefer the Tamer format, there's no reason you couldn't obtain a Handi rifle in the chambering of your choice, then swap in the Tamer buttstock, etc.

Just remember, if you shorten any barrels, to keep rifle barrels at least 16" long; and smoothbore/shot 18" (the choke in shot bbls will go bye-bye if/when lopped off).

If you get REALLY lucky, the .410 barrel from your Tamer shotgun frame might "drop in" the rifle frame w/o fitting - then you could sell the Tamer receiver to a funshow parts vendor to defray your costs.
