My opinion on the matter is that it is purely cosmetic and serves no real purpose other than looks. If you like the look then go for it, after all it's your rifle. As Sinbad stated rimfire central is the place. Go over there and look up "Que" or "Nemo Hunter". Either one of those guys can fix you up. While you're at it you might as well have them adjust the head space on the rim recess, pin the firing pin down and adjust the extractor. That will improve function and can help accuracy too. I had Que do one for me without the jeweling and he did very nice work for a more than reasonable price and he was a good guy to deal with.
