Hi All, i have been looking at getting a Ruger 77/44 bolt action synthetic. Only thing that is stopping me is that it only has a 4 round magazine. Is there a larger commercially available magazine for this rifle. I belive you can get a 9 round magazine for the 96/44 but how about the 77/44?

Owning one of the Deerfield carbines with only five shots has never been a problem hunting.. My state allows five round capacity in semi-auto hunting rifles. That's five in the mag plus one chambered. Missing that one round has never been cause for a missed shot. The first shot is the most important and having ten more in one of my bolt actions has never helped.

The small magazine leaves it flush with the bottom of the receiver which makes it look nice and handle well.
The only “complaint” I have with this rifle or the lever action Ruger in 44 Magnum is the short magazine which restricts COAL. Many 44 Magnum bullets are long.
