Just got a new GP100 Match Champion 38/357. It came with what looks like a spare berilium- copper firing pin, but no explanation in the owner’s manual or paperwork. Is this because of a known problem with the firing pins?

That's the takedown pin.

Cheers

Yep, stick that through the hole in the hammer spring strut after cocking the hammer to cage the spring.

Very nice purchase, oldbrass33,... I have admired that "MATCH" model for quite awhile,.... but, I am stuck on calibers that start with a '4'.

I know, I know,.... very bigoted of me :sneaky:, but, old habits are hard to change, especially the older I get.

Congrats on on your purchase. I got mine in 2014. It is stainless steel. After firing a box, it was horribly filthy and a ***** to clean even with a special cloth. However, it is a beautiful firearm. I did not like the OEM grips though and bought some Altamont Grips. For a revolver it is great.
