I have been reading some old posts about problems with 454 SRH scope rings not cuttin' the mustard. Does the 44 SRH share this problem with it's bigger bolder brother? I've been kicking around the idea of scoping my 9.5 SRH 44 but I don't want to borrow any trouble. Thinking about Bushnell 2X trophy series, any suggestions or opinions pro or con?

Fuz,
I have had some experience working up loads for my mother's SRH in 44 mag. I did manage to break a T/C Recoil Proof (&#33 scope, but the rings seemed steady as a rock. That was the only handgun scope we had at the time, so when it broke we went to open sights. I was loading 300gr jacketed bullets as hot as I dared. I didn't shoot the gun much (and honestly wasn't very good with it) but as I said, the rings seemed far stronger than the scope. Good luck!! IDShooter

Fuz,

I have and interim set of mounts and rings (read 'cheap&#39 on my Bisley Blackhawk in .45 Colt for my current load development. I intend to replace them with a set of TSOB mount and rings from JD Jones at SSK Industries. JD made these to withstand the recoil from his wildcat "Hand Cannons" while he was hunting big game in Africa, and are reputed by some as the best there are.

I've had SSK do work for me, and met Mr. Jones. He's as straight as they come.
