Hey everyone, I just purchased a Mosin Nagant 91/30. Upon disassembly for cleaning, i noticed that there are a couple spots with some significant rust and pitting. The first spot is located on the receiver by the rear sight under the stock. The second spot is located about half way down the barrel under the stock. I cleaned as much rust off as I could with a brass cleaning brush. There seems to be some stubborn rust left and some pitting. Can I use muratic acid to remove the rest? Also, can I (or a gunsmith) fix the pitting issues and reblue the receiver and barrel?
